Picture is from Flower King's gig at the festival 2012 where both bass and keyboards where amplified by EBS amps & cabinets.
EBS has been present at the Sweden Rock Festival for many years now. The Swedish 'Mecca' for fans of Metal and Classic Rock has served as a base for recruitment of several important EBS endorsers and a window to present EBS amps to the rock and metal scene - where it is now well established. 2013 is no exception - and for the second year in a row, EBS is responsible for the Festival bass backline on three out of five stages.
Background
EBS presence at Sweden Rock Festival can be traced back to a desicion years ago to find a way to reach a new audience, in addition to the EBS heritage of serving the jazz and fusion scene with high end bass equipment - we wanted to reach the rock and metal scene. A scene that has strong roots and presence in our country of origin - Sweden. Today we have developed our artist roster and network of important collaborators within this field and many of these can be traced directly to our presence at Sweden Rock!
The Sweden Rock Festival
Sweden Rock Festival was established 1993. It started in Karlshamn, a small town on the Swedish South East Coast in the community of Blekinge. In 1998, as the event grew in size, it was moved to it's current location - the small village of Norje, a place between Karlshamn and another small town, Sölvesborg. Over the years, the festival has grown constantly and now sees about 35'000 visitors yearly. Among the bands that has been headlining over the years are Motley Crue, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Gun's N Roses, In Flames, Aerosmith and more...simply the 'cream of the crop' of classic rock and metal bands. 2013 is no exception offering no less than KISS, Rush and the 30th Anniversary Show for Swedish band Europe, feat special guests. If the festival wasn't limited by the areas to grow even further, it would still be the biggest festival in Sweden, as it was for a few years until recently. Sweden Rock Festival has earned a great reputation among visitors and artists and was nominated a one of six festivals for 'Best International Music Festival' at the prestigeous Pollstars Concert Industry Awards in Los Angeles, February 2013 (the first Swedish festival to be nominated ever).
EBS at Sweden Rock 2013
Since EBS is part of the festival backline for the Sweden Stage, 4Sound Stage and Rockklassiker Stage, a lot of bands will be playing EBS at the show. Among those already connected to EBS through endorsments are Candlemass (Lasse Johansson, gtr/EBS Pedal Artist), Rabutier (Jonas Kjellgren, bass/EBS Pedal Artist), Thunder (Chris Childs, bass/EBS Pedal Artist), Amaranthe (Johan Andreassen, bass/EBS Artist), Leningrad Cowboy's (Timo Tolonen, bass/EBS Artist), At The Gates (Jonas Björler, bass/EBS Artist), Hypocrisy (Mikael Hedlund, bass/EBS Artist) and Black Star Riders (Marco Mendoza, bass/EBS Pedal Artist).
Expect full coverage from the show at the EBS Blog at www.ebssweden.com/ebsblog after the festival, and posts and snippets at EBS various social network channels such as Facebook, Twitter etcetera.

Musicians Planet, Stockholm, Sweden - REPORT
EBS at Musicians Planet Music Trade Show in Stockholm October 20-21
On the weekend of October 20-21, we moved out of the office down to the exhibition floor at the yearly Musicians Planet Show in our hometown Stockholm! We hade a great time with friends and collegues of the Swedish Music business, as well as meeting our customers (it's open for the public) and some of the fine EBS Artists that we work together with!
Our Danish friend and excellent bass player Larry Danielsson (pictured right, with Mats and Bo from EBS) did a appreciated clinic perfomance that filled the clinic room to the limit, as well as offering bass player to bass player talk at the EBS booth. Larry has also contributed by doing a testdrive of the EBS Premium heads on video, which you can see here: HD360, TD660, Fafner II.
We also had EBS Artist Aleks Brdarski playing at the booth, and a meet-and-greet with two of the progressive metal giants: EBS Pedal Artist Martin Mendez of Opeth and EBS Artist Niklas Sandin
from Katatonia (pictured right below with a happy fan)!
EBS AT EXPOMUSIC in Sao Paolo, BRAZIL, September 19-23
We are thrilled to present EBS to South America at the Expomusic trade show in Sao Paolo, September 19-23.

Expomusic is considered the major show of Musical Instruments in South America. You will find EBS at the ODERY DRUMS booth, Entrance-A, Street C1. Represented byJoao Paolo Janela and Octavio Valero.
PORCUPINE TREE's COLIN EDWIN CLINIC TOUR IN SWITZERLAND
EBS Artist Colin Edwin, the bass player of acclaimed UK progressive rockers Porcupine Tree as well as solo artist, will be doing a series of clinics in Switzerland in September!
EBS Rocked at Sweden Rock Festival and Metaltown 2012!
Above: Flower King's gig, where both bass player Jonas Reingold and keyboard player Tomas Bodin where powered by EBS!
No doubt that EBS is rock'n roll! Evidence were collected at the recent big rock and metal festivals, Sweden Rock and Metaltown, the last just outside Gothenburg, the place of birth of the famous 'Gothenburg' sound!
Right: John Calabrese from Danko Jones with 4x EBS Classic 450 heads and 4x ClassicLine 810 on stage at Sweden Rock 2012!
At the time around a decade ago, EBS was not a brand seen with many metal and rock bands. There was a common sense that these products where made for slap bass, jazz and R'n B players only. We new better, only we had to find a way to let others know too. We started to visit Sweden Rock Festival,
Swedens largest event for hard rock and metal, to try turn the ship. Hard and consistent work started to pay off by time, and now the floodgate has been opened! A proof of evidence is that all bands but one on the main stage at Metaltown this year had at least some EBS equipment on stage! 2012 was also the first year where EBS was part of the house backline for three of five stages. With ambassadors like Peter Iwers from In Flames, Jonas Björler from The Haunted (and At The Gates), pedal artists like Lamb Of God'sJohn Campbell or Adrenaline Mob/Disturbed'sJohn Moyer, people slowly starting to get it - EBS is the real deal!
Lamb Of God's John Campbell & In Flames Peter Iwers backstage Metaltown.
In Flames headlining one of the two nights at Metaltown 2012.
Peter Iwers (In Flames) rig on stage before the show featuring 2x EBS Fafner II heads and 2x EBS NeoLine 810 cabinets.
Spotted at Sweden Rock and Metaltown:
John Moyer with Adrenaline Mob use an EBS MicroBass II to preamp the tone for his Kustom amp, and blend in an EBS MetalDrive for the parts requiring distortion.
Rob Everhart from Rival Sons using an EBS MultiDrive
and an EBS DPhaser. The MultiDrive for a tube-like fuzz tone and the DPhaser 'just for fun', as he put it.
Martin Mendez from Opeth with an EBS MultiDrive, ValveDrive and DynaVerb pedal in his stage setup at Metaltown. The MultiDrive for heavy distortion and the ValveDrive for soft distortion, and the DynaVerb for a slight reverb.
John Campbell from Lamb Of God, with the EBS MultiComp onboard. John and the producer of Lamb Of God's latest album 'Resolution', Josh Wilbur, revealed that the EBS MultiComp was used to re-amp all bass on the entire album! They also had the EBS DPhaser featured on two songs on the album, although not in his live rig.
Niklas Sandin of Katatonia uses an EBS ValveDrive in his amp less rig. He also use an EBS MicroBass II as the DI box, not spotted here though, On the recordings for the new album, he also used an EBS Classic 450 head and a miked EBS NeoLine cabinet.
Jonas Reingold with Flower Kings with an EBS UniChorus and DynaVerb among his toys. Run in stereo through two EBS Classic 450 heads and ClassicLine 810 cabinets!
Victor Brandt of Entombed uses an EBS TD660 head and an EBS MultiDrive and MetalDrive live with the band.
Tomas Bodin of Flower Kings had two EBS TD660 amps and NeoLine 212 cabinets as keyboard monitors, claimed he never ever had a better sound on stage before!
More rig rundowns and pictures from these events to be found at the EBS Blog and Facebook pages!
We believe teaming up with Guitarcube will establish EBS on one of the fastest growing music instruments market China! The beginning of this relation has been very promising and we have no doubt we found the right company to get the job done well!

FRANKFURT MUSIKMESSE A GREAT SUCCESS FOR EBS!
The MusikMesse in Frankfurt may have had less visitors than usual, but it was definitely a successful show for EBS!
Among the highlights, except for all the great business that happened, were the MIPA Nomination for EBS NeoLine 410 as a top three candidate for 'Best Speaker Cabinet', the exceptionally great response for the EBS Reidmar head, and
the positive feedback on the new EBS HD360 bass head and Session 30 bass combo, introduced at the show! We were also honored to see several famous musicians visiting the EBS booth, including guitar legend John McLaughlin, Billy Sheehan, Gary Grainger, David Vincent (Morbid Angel), Michael Amott (Arch Enemy), Peter Sonntag, and many others, not to forget EBS Artist Etienne Mbappé, who played with his son Swaeli at the booth every day, and Whitesnake's bass player and EBS Pedal Artist Michael Devin, who also did a signing at the booth.

EBS launches the EBS Guitar Zone - A Blog dedicated to guitarists with EBS effects!
Since we made the update on the Black Label Pedals to true bypass in 2008, we have seen an exploding interest in EBS effects among guitarists. To meet that and to give some input on the use of EBS effects with guitar, we are now launching the EBS Guitar Zone - a blog dedicated to guitarists with EBS effects! The guitar zone is in its womb and already contain feedback from some of the guitarists that endorse EBS pedals, as well as video clips showing EBS pedals in use with guitar. With time we will implement more resources like soundclips, more video samples and independent reviews. We hope that our customers that are guitarists will share their thoughts and ideas as well!
